There is an abundance of products available on how to relieve stress and it shouldn’t surprise you. The world is full of stressful people. Generally people are so busy they have little time for anything.

We are the result of a world gone crazy. Think about it. We run around like crazy all day just so we don’t have enough time. Chasing after money and successful careers while dealing with family concerns is the reason for our stressful lifestyles.

Disease, chronics illness, hypertension and even heart attacks are just some of the symptoms of stress. Many people don’t realize the stress they put themselves under on a daily basis. We have built in mechanisms in our bodies that help us when we are confronted with stressful situations. We were not however supposed deal with stress all the time.

So how does one go about relieving the effects of stress on your body? Before we get to the 5 tips for effective stress relief there are two things you should be doing, if you are not already, on a daily basis to free yourself from stress.

The first thing is to get off adrenaline. One of the best tips on how to relieve stress is to plan better. In life there will always be things you have to deal with that you didn’t plan for but this should be the exception. A little planning can be the best thing you can do to keep your stress levels down. Your health and life could be at stake.

The second thing is to drink less caffeine and if you are a smoker to cut back, or better yet, quit smoking. Nicotine and caffeine can cause harmful stress to the body. Where possible try to avoid them.

So let’s now work through the 5 steps to a stree free mind and body.

1. Get regular exercise
It doesn’t really matter what you consider exercise. It could be jogging or taking a long brisk walk or even doing a workout at the gym. What is important is that you exercise regularly and you do an exercise that relaxes you. There is no point in exercising if you hate every minute while you are doing it.

2. Relaxation and meditation
I know it sounds easy to say just relax or chill out but most people don’t know how to. There is no need to know how to meditate or anything like that, you should just be able to get some time by yourself without being disturbed.

3. Go out and spoil yourself
This doesn’t mean you go out and start shopping ladies. It does mean doing something for yourself. Take a time out to be on your own making sure you will not be interrupted or you could go out to a spa and get a massage.

4. Video and board games
Games can be a perfect way to relieve stress. You may want to choose careful the people you play the game with so as to avoid tension because of competitiveness. There are some great free software games you can download off the internet that are great to help relieve stress

5. Get a good night’s sleep
Get enough proper rest. Interrupting your sleeping habits can cause serious stress on your mind and body. Resting means not constantly thinking and worrying. The simplest way to control your constant thinking is to not react to negative thoughts as this can cause you to stress.

It is not necessary to do all of these from the word go but you should start with one and do it regularly until it becomes effective. It is important to relax no matter what you do. Don’t wait start today.
