The cold seasons are already coming and it only means that we would have to pack loads and loads of chopped woods to help us feel the warmth that we need during these times. And to help us get through the fall and winter seasons, we could always rely on our fireplaces to help us feel warm and cozy while we just stay at home, cuddling with the one that we love while sipping hot chocolate or watching television.

And when it comes to watching television, one of the latest trends is the LCD TV which is very nice if we would place them on our living room and we may wonder to ourselves, “can I put a TV over a fireplace?” because it sure would look elegant and very convenient. Here are some of the major concerns and answers to the question if you can put a TV over a fireplace and the safety issues that are involved with it.

Forget It

If you are thinking of the question, “can I put a TV over a fireplace?” one of the many issues that would be raised are the safety concerns because not only it could permanently disrupt your new LCD TV, but the heat and smoke could discolor it and the plastic housing. Aside from that, if you are thinking of, “can I put a TV over a fireplace?” you would realize that putting them on such a great height would only tire your neck as it is a very uncomfortable height and too high for comfortable TV viewing.

Plus, thinking of putting a your TV over a fireplace would require major adjustments to your electrical wiring because of course, you would want the wires to be hidden when you display it on the wall, right? You would need to hire a professional in order for you to change and make adjustments if you think of putting it on the wall over your fireplace.

Instead of thinking, “can I put a TV over a fireplace?” what you may want to do is opt for a more realistic and safer option like buying a new TV stand that could meet your taste. It would also be great if you would find a new TV stand that could complement the current style of your home so forget about putting it over a fireplace and instead, just opt for the safer and less stressful location by just buying a TV stand.

    YES!you can put a tv over your fireplace. Using some type of mantel can deflect the heat outward instead of upward. did you put a picture over your fireplace? did it get black? or hot? if you answered yes, then you need to have someone check your fireplace.. it shouldn’t do that. if no then your fireplce is correct and you should be able to put one over it. every home is different, so look at the items you have over the fireplce now, see if there is any damage from the fireplace, if not then you should be ok AS lond as you have some type of mantel deflecting the heat.
