Down Under And Finding Noosa Holiday Accommodation
September 9th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedAh yes, the great outback…Normally when we think of Australia, you would picture scenes of wildlife with dozens of exotic animals running wild with some “National Geographic hired hunter fellow” not far behind.
But did you also know that Australia is one of the most scenic places in the world? The city of Noosa is quickly becoming the place to be in these parts, especially with plenty of Noosa holiday accommodation available.
Noosa is conveniently located on the Sunshine Coast in South East Queensland, Australia. Noosa is bounded by Maroochy Shire in the south, and Cooloola Shire in the North of Australia. The name “Noosa” comes from the Aboriginal word “shadow” or shady place. It is most commonly used to describe a tight cluster of suburbs which none are actually called Noosa. The main suburbs that are within Noosa town are:
* Noosa Heads
* Noosaville
* Sunshine Beach
* Sunrise Beach
* Tewantin
The main surrounding towns that are within Noosa Shire are:
* Boreen Point
* Cooran
* Cooroy
* Kin Kin
* Peregian Beach
* Pomona
The current population of the Noosa Shire is approximately 50,000 residents, although tourism based seasonal fluctuations can boost that number by 20,000+ visitors. Therefore, the Noosa economy is primarily driven by tourism.
Beginning March 2008, Noosa will be merged with two other Sunshine Coast councils…Caloundra & Maroochydore.
Noosa has that small town type of feeling. And given that tourism is by far the biggest economy in the region, it is not surprising to note that the Noosa calendar and local population is very much attuned to the guests arriving year round.
Being the main tourist center of this lovely Sunshine Coast, Noosa is a very popular tourist destination. The Cooloola National Park and Noosa National Park both together offer sensational camping sites with it’s raw natural beauty. Hastings Street is the place to be for shopping and beach side restaurants. Don’t forget to head to the Noosa River for all types of water sports, fishing and boating activities.
Noosa Holiday Accommodation
Noosa holiday accomodation is filled with hotels, resorts, and yes, even hostels for the everyday traveler.
Noosa is one of those tranquil places that makes you feel like you actually live there and is very inviting for any tourist.
Visit this part of Australia (the great outback) and see for yourself why Noosa is quickly becoming one of those locales that is being considered “the place to be”.
