How To Select Fun And Colorful Kids Bedding
November 16th, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedI think your kids are pretty lucky. You’re determined to make his or her bedroom into something fanciful, fun and inventive. Way back when I was a child, we had the basics… a bed, some pillows and blankets. But nothing at all like the fashionable bedding for children that’s for sale nowadays. The sheer number of bedding themes that are available for kids bedrooms these days is astounding, and honestly can be just a tiny bit overwhelming when you think about it. It doesn’t need to be, if you can narrow your selections a tiny bit to start with.
First of all is your child a boy or a girl…?
Little girls usually like colors that are softer light pastels in shades of yellow, pink, green, orange, purple and such. They’ll generally be very happy with themes centering on pups and other creatures, flowers, butterflies, dancers, teddy bears and things like this. If your little one is still a bit young to let you know what designs she would like in her bedding, then just use her personality to give you a guide as to what she’d like.
Why not go ahead and let her help you pick out her bedding — it’ll be fun for both of you. After all you want her to love her bedroom, right…?
If you’re buying kids boy bedding, you’ll find just hundreds of themes for them as well — everything from sports to cars and trucks and plenty more, you’ll find the cutest kids bedding right here online.
I’d tend to stick with brand named bedding. Why do I say that…..? They will have established a reputation for superior quality which involves details like stitching seams properly, using quality bed linen fabrics that are long-lasting and keep their colors through many washes, but that are above all, safe. Brand-name companies need to keep their hard won reputation so they will pay more attention to these details than no name off brands.
Brand names you might be familiar with:
Laura Ashley
Dan River Bedding
DwellKids
When you’ve selected the bedding theme you’d like in your child’s room, you can then add some finishing touches with optional, fun accessories. You should be able to select from matching or even coordinating items like:
area rugs
lampstands and shades
switch plate covers
wall border accents
plush toys
storage boxes
treatments for the windows.. like valance and drapes
shelves
chairs
You don’t have to just stick with what may come as an optional accessory either. Feel free to use whatever beloved items you want- like that rocker or dresser you love. The idea is to have fun and create a room that your children will love to pass time playing in and dreaming in.
