There are many benefits of meditation that can be revealed if people would just take the time to do so. Meditation is a way of getting in touch with your spiritual selves. As humans, we are very spiritual beings. Our spirituality is one of things that separate us from the animals of this world. But what is the benefit of getting in touch with this side of us? The benefits of meditation are infinite. Meditation energizes us, it allows us to reboot our brains, so to speak, it allows us to get to know ourselves in ways we’ve never known before, and it allows us to ascend into a higher level of consciousness, which is very needed in these troubling times.

There are a number of misconceptions that exist surrounding the subject of meditation and to a great degree these misconceptions are well deserved as a number of charlatans have overemphasized the positive benefits that serious meditation can provide. Unfortunately, this has led to a prevalent belief among many that meditation is completely without value and is part of the realm of mystic foolishness.

Now, this is an inaccurate belief, but alas it is a somewhat common one. In fact, there are a number of skeptical societies that have marked meditation in their sights for debunking. While it would make sense to debunk the extreme exaggerations that some have put forth, it would be foolish to try and completely debunk what is not fraudulent.
