Scaffolding Towers

Scaffolding towers are major elements to the UK builder. They play a vital role in building structures that are significantly higher than the builder or worker can reach. You can buy an extension ladder; but a scaffold tower is more stable.

Let’s Look At the Basic Structure of Scaffold Towers

These useful constructions are built from three major things—the tubes, the couplers, and the scaffold boards. The tubes are the lengthy metal pipes that form the frame of the tower. The couplers are of three different types. The right angle couplers and the swivel couplers are implemented in the positioning of the tubes. The right angle couplers can only connect the tubes forming right angles while the swivel couplers will adjoin the tubes at any angle. Also, there are putlog couplers which are used to affix the scaffold tower against a structure. Finally, the scaffold boards are the horizontal plank that the worker is on. Normally, these parts are wooden. However, the boards can also be made out of aluminium, steel, and some compound parts. Other components of the towers include pulleys, ropes, ladders, base plates, and sole boards.

Aluminium Scaffold Towers: An intelligent Selection

Steel scaffold towers would be the classic choice; however, aluminium towers are the trend of the present day builder. Aluminium scaffold towers are light weight and easy to manoeuvre. The construction is also simple. The trendiest aluminium towers are 5 and 7 meters high—some of them will have 9 height placements. These towers can close down into a flat position so it is easy to store them. Furthermore, there are aluminium mobile scaffold towers which also come with wheels which allow easy manoeuvring. In addition,an aluminium scaffold tower is just as durable as the steel ones.

Scaffolding Tower Safety

All scaffold tower workers should be required to use safety tools and rails. A skilled manager should always watch over the moving of the scaffolding tower. All workers on the tower need to know the safety measures. Before climbing onto a scaffold tower, all parts should be checked out; all faulty components that are noticed should be reported promptly.

Working with scaffolding towers in the UK could be very helpful but only if you are experienced on the usages and you are aware of the safety rules.
