When I watch an old movie on television, I wonder what it would have been like to see it on the big screen. Can you imagine a time when you had to leave your home to watch a movie? Can you imagine going back in time and telling people sitting in a dark movie house that someday they could watch the same movie in their home? Today with the best home theater systems ever invented, movie going is becoming a thing of the past.

Today you can have Dolby surround sound with a better sound system than most theaters had in the 20th century. You can hear background noise in the back of you while listening to the dialog in the foreground.

You can hear explosions in the movie as if you were actually next to the blow up. And if you want to hear it again you simply rewind the tape or replay the DVD. So who needs to go to the movie house these days?

Sure the number of people going to the movies has affected the movie industry. But they have adapted. They are still making money off their productions.

Instead the industry knows they can make up the lost revenue at the movie theaters by increasing its promotion of DVD’s. The average cost of a movie ticket is about . The average cost of a DVD is about . Would you rather pay to watch a movie once or to watch it as many times as you like?

The movie industry is making movies with all sorts of unique features both video and audio which makes watching movies at home on the best home theater systems money can buy. This way everyone is happy. The people watching movies in their home and the movie industry who sells them the movies. Remember the old movies and the people who watched them the next time you are enjoying your home theater system.
