When you’re taking a break from the endless bustle of the holidays, these Christmas Movies are sure to bring a smile to your face. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

10 - A Christmas Carol (1999) starring Patrick Stewart
Based on Charles Dickens’ novel, A Christmas Carol tells the tale of a grumpy broker named Ebeneezer Scrooge, who’s only emotion towards the Holiday season is “Bam-Humbug!” His miserable, cold attitude is reversed when three ghosts visit him and warn him of his impending lonely death. Can Ebeneezer change his substandard ways in time to celebrate Christmas the right way?

9 - Elf (2003) starring Will Ferrell
As an infant, Buddy (Will Farrell) accidentally finds himself in Santa’s toy bag. He is carried away to the North Pole where he is raised as an elf. Since Buddy doesn’t fit in with his elf family, he travels to New York City to be with his real family. Unfortunately for Buddy, his real family doesn’t believe in Santa or the true meaning of Christmas. Buddy takes the opportunity to find himself by reviving Christmas in his family and in New York.

8 - The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Animated
Jack Skellington, aka the Pumpkin King, is bored with the routine Halloween celebration in his town of Halloweenland. He stumbles upon Christmastown, and attempts to bring his discovery back to Halloweentown.

7 - National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989) starring Chevy Chase
Number seven is truly a classic Christmas comedy. The Griswold family struggles to have an old-fashioned Christmas. With crazy Christmas lights, Cousin Eddie, and squirrels hiding in trees, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation will keep you laughing all night long.

6 - Bad Santa (2003) starring Billy Bob Thornton
Two men disguised as Santa and Santa’s elf set out to rob a mall instead of spread Holiday cheer. An encounter with an 8-year old teachers the criminals what the true meaning of Christmas is. You’ll hear move ‘f’ words in this movie than in Scarface.

5 - Scrooged (1988)
Bill Murray stars as Frank Cross, a cynical TV executive, who just can’t get into the Christmas spirit. When the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future visit him, Frank realizes it’s time to make a change.

4 - The Santa Clause (1994)
When Santa is killed, divorced father Scott Calvin is recruited to take his place and complete his Christmas rounds. Scott believes it’s all a dream, until he begins to morph into the jolly old man, much to the delight of his six-year old son Charlie.

3 - Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
Miracle on 34th Street is a timeless Christmas classic. After a drunk imitation Santa at Macy’s is replaced by a new Santa, skeptical six-year old Susan notices this Santa’s determination to prove to everyone that he, Kris Kringle, is indeed the real Santa. Kris goes to court to prove his title is true, and in doing so, restores Susan’s faith and belief in Christmas.

2 - It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)
George Baily spent his entire life supporting the dreams of his town. When George contemplates suicide, he ends up saving his guardian angel, Clarence. Clarence shows George that he really has made a difference in the town. Is it enough to save George’s life?

1 - A Christmas Story (1983) starring Peter Billingsley
Probably the most popular Christmas movie ever made, A Christmas Story is a tale of a young boy, Ralphie, who wants nothing more than a Red Ryder BB rifle for Christmas. Does Ralphie ever get his one and only wish? Bunny outfits, leg lamps, and “You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!” will keep you laughing until next Christmas.
