Description Of Absinthe Proof

Because of it’s legalization in the USA and other nations Absinthe has become popular once again among the people. Without any consideration of alcohol content in Absinthe lots of young people are trying. Description of Absinthe proof?

The preparation of Absinthe is done from distilling alcohol with a blend of herbs including wormwood (artemisia absinthium), fennel and aniseed. It is commonly known as the Green Fairy, La Fee Verte, because of the characteristic emerald green coloring of classic verte styles of Absinthe.

There is the Ritual to mix Absinthe with iced water before drinking it. One can see the louche effect after dripping the water over a sugar lump on a slotted spoon and into the Absinthe.

There were restrictions on Absinthe due to the wormwood content in it. Dr Valentin Magnan tested worwmood on guinea pigs in 1845 and found that a guinea pig given wormwood oilhad convulsions, whereas, a guinea pig given alcohol just got drunk. The chemical thujone was found to be far more dangerous than ethanol (alcohol) from the tests done by Magnan. He and others in the medical profession believed thujone to be a psychoactive element. Due to this reason Absinthe was banned.

Even in 1975, a nature magazine claimed that a thujone molecule was similar in structure to THC from the drug cannabis and that they therefore acted in a similar manner.

Everybody is now familiar with the inaccuracy of these proves. The higher dose of thujone can become active on the GABA receptors of the brain but thujone is different from THC. According to the experiments done on Absinthe the thujone content in it is so small that it cannot harm anybody. When anyone drinks heavy amount of Absinthe he dies of alcohol poisoning before getting affected from thujone!

Although Absinthe will not cause us to hallucinate or convulse, it is a highly alcoholic drink which needs to be consumed with care because it will get you drunk quite quickly.
